This was an illustration I started on my way either back or to Israel this past Spring. The things you do on an international flight… Such long hours of just sitting. I try to do a few illustrations to keep my mind sharp.

Lately I have been breaking out the gouache to color the older illustrations I come across. I mix it with just enough white acrylic to keep it put but not enough to make it opaque. This is an old technique I used to do for my woodblocks in 2005, why I deterred away from it is beyond me. Seems like I’ve now gone full circle.

I hope this will be complete for the BC Surf Show on Friday… I am updating my blog entries before I can get back to the art desk. Priorities!
