Yellowstone Wolves: Succession — A Dream Come True
Wolves have always felt personal to me. Maybe it’s my name—Villalobos—literally “House of the Wolves” in Spanish. Maybe it’s their fierce loyalty, their untamed spirit, their undeniable beauty. Whatever the reason, wolves have long held a special place in my heart and in my art. So, I’m over the moon to finally share some news that’s been two years in the making: my fan art of the legendary 06 Female is featured in National Geographic’s new documentary, Yellowstone Wolves: Succession!
This incredible film premieres Friday, January 17th at two times: 7 PM EST / 4 PM PT and again at 11 PM EST / 8 PM PT on the National Geographic Channel. Right now, these are the only two airings scheduled, and the documentary isn’t streaming anywhere—so set your alarms, mark your calendars, and don’t miss it.
Being part of this project feels like the stars aligning. When I created my tribute to the 06 Female—a wolf known for her strength, grace, and legacy—I never imagined it would end up in a National Geographic documentary. The 06 Female represents so much of what I admire about wolves: resilience, leadership, and a spirit that refuses to be tamed.
Wolves, like art, have a way of connecting us to something primal and profound. This project has reminded me why I’m so drawn to them, and I hope it inspires you to see them in a new light too. If you’ve ever been curious about the lives of these magnificent creatures, this documentary is your chance to witness their world up close.
So please, join me in watching Yellowstone Wolves: Succession this Friday. It’s not just a documentary—it’s a celebration of wolves, of art, and of the wild connections that unite us all.
See you in Yellowstone—through the screen, at least!
Yours in Creativity,
Angelina Villalobos
